PG goes on summer break

The next winter is sure to come!

by PowderGuide 05/15/2021
The editorial contributions have already slowly gone into summer hibernation over the last few weeks, and now the PG weather service is following suit. On May 20, we will switch off "the weather" for this season. Anyone who is still skiing can of course continue to post ConditionsReports! We are just as happy to receive alpine tour reports as we are summer snow sliding!

Before the winter, we were a little undecided as to whether we should go through with the PowderGuide operation as usual. Now we are very happy that we did it! Thanks to the support of the community and our partner companies, the season went very well. Once again, a big thank you to everyone!

Still wintry in the high mountains

This week at least, the weather is still rather cool and wet, and in the high mountains the snow is still more rather than less, even if you often have to contend with dry approaches. Those who want to will certainly find good conditions for a while yet and in some glacier ski areas the lifts are still running or are running again. As the ski resorts' operating information is currently changing every week, we are not providing an overview this year - it's best to find out directly from the resorts if you are planning a visit. In Tyrol, all glacier ski areas except Sölden currently have at least limited weekend operations, most of them are closed during the week.

Summer break!

The winter was and is beautiful, but the PG team now needs a break to gather strength and ideas for the next season. And of course to enjoy the summer! We are now "officially" ending the season on PowderGuide.com, which means above all that the PowderGuide weather report, including new snow, sunshine and SnowGrid maps, will be discontinued - our columnists have already taken their summer break. The weather service will return as usual in the fall, when the first major snowfalls are due, as will the editorial contributions.

During the summer, we will still be working on the remaining teething troubles of the new ConditionsReport and also making a few other technical updates in the background. As usual, you can report any feedback or problems concerning the CR in the forum or by email. We are also always happy to receive suggestions and article ideas for the PowderGuide magazine, preferably by email.

And if you have a longing for snow, mountains and sun (aka the PowderGuide.com logo), then take a look at our new PG shop! Of course, there are also plenty of useful items for the summer. We appreciate any support for our project with the purchase of various PowderGuide items!!! In our opinion, these are also the best birthday presents... and most recently, the coveted, new PG insulation jacket is now available in different colors and for men and women.

We wish all PowderGuide.com readers a beautiful and relaxing summer! Stay healthy! We look forward to seeing you again in the fall.

The PG team
