Testers and test conditions
I have been testing the Scott Symbol 2 Plus D ski helmet for more than 30 days of skiing this season. So far, the helmet has been in use in temperatures ranging from around -15°C to slightly above zero and when touring and freeriding, on deep powder days, but also in rain and wet snow. I wear the helmet in size M and in the color radiant red. I previously wore helmets from Sweet and Uvex.
Test report
The Scott Symbol 2 Plus fits very comfortably thanks to the soft round padding and can be perfectly adjusted thanks to the MRAS2 Fit System, which not only has a wheel for tightening and widening the helmet, but also allows the height of the adjustment strap to be changed. The padding on the chin strap, which can be easily fastened with a buckle, is also very comfortable. Even in icy temperatures, the buckle can be easily closed and opened.
The goggles can be quickly and easily attached to the rear part of the helmet with a rubber strap system for hooking in. Both with Marker and Uvex goggles, the helmet fits perfectly and without pressure points in the forehead area during the test period.
The manufacturer doesn't advertise the 360° Pure Sound technology for nothing: "Compared to other helmets, I can hear very well with the Scott Symbol 2 Plus without my fellow riders having to shout. This helps with communication, especially off-road. I was also able to hear ambient noises quickly and very well.
