As in previous years, sustainability was an important topic in the clothing segment. Almost every manufacturer has now realized this. There were no major technical highlights, but there were still one or two interesting products. Generally speaking, it can be said that things are becoming a little more colorful again, albeit with more classic colors.

Black Diamond

The Dawn Patrol Hybrid Shell won Black Diamond a Gold Award at this year's ISPO. The jacket is a type of softshell jacket that is particularly suitable for touring and offers a high level of comfort. It achieves this thanks to its flexible cut and high breathability. Sustainability was also taken into account during production: An impregnation from Green Theme Technologies was used. This works completely without water, palm oil or PFC pollutants. This is because water consumption during production also plays an important role when it comes to sustainability.

Icebreaker

The topic of sustainability has become increasingly important in recent years. Even companies that have long been known for their environmentally friendly products or use predominantly natural raw materials are now optimizing their production processes even further. Icebreaker, for example, pays particular attention to flat seams, mono-material and natural dyes with the Nature Dye 200 Oasis baselayer. Harmful chemicals are often used in the dyeing process. As usual, the product is made from 100% merino wool.

With the Ex4 collection, the Oberammergau-based company is launching a sustainable line of gloves and ski clothing. The basis of this collection is the use of recycled materials, CO2-neutral, PFC-free and a repair service. The gloves are made from 100% recycled material. In the textile sector, this cannot yet be fully achieved due to materials such as the zippers, but here too, the company is well on the way. After all, the clothing line is produced in Europe and achieves a recycling rate of around 90%. The leather used in glove production is tanned organically to avoid toxic chemicals.

The clothing collection remains unchanged, as it has been for the last few years. There are also the same colors in each series, so you can combine a jacket from the Vertic series with one of the others, for example. There was an Ispo Award for the Insuloft Superlight PL Jacket. Thanks to the Primaloft Gold filling and the so-called Aerogel technology, the jacket provides the same thermal performance as thicker midlayers with less material.

Mammut

Mammut is upgrading the existing collection with innovative, newly designed accessories. For example, the pockets are now better designed to optimally stow skins or avalanche transceivers. In addition, the Photics HS Thermo Hooded Jacket introduced last year is now also available to buy as a regular item. This is a waterproof and quilted down jacket. This is achieved using a special laser technology.

Miscellaneous

The ski touring sector is also becoming increasingly important for many manufacturers. As this trend has grown in recent years, well-known companies such as Schöffel are also jumping on the bandwagon. And they have succeeded. Visually and functionally, the collection makes a good impression at first glance. Even companies that are otherwise better known for flashy and extravagant clothing (such as Bogner) are making a start here.
