PartnerNews | Engelberg Freeride Days 2024

While Engelberg is known as a freeride spot, Freeride Days are still an insider tip.

Guest author 04/23/2024
A small group of very friendly people who are dedicated to freeriding in all its facets organise a very special family event.

As a ski manufacturer, I attend various selected ski festivals every season with my Valhalla Ski brand. This season was my first time at the "Engelberg Freeride Days".

It is a weekend that offers a wide range of opportunities to immerse yourself in the world of freeriding. In addition to the option of trying out next season's products from selected manufacturers, there is also a broad supporting programme.

Together with local mountain guides, you can abseil down steep gullies, go on the Titlis round tour, enjoy guided freeride runs, hone your skiing technique or backcountry safety skills or soar through the air with a paraglider and your skis on your feet.

The Eventbase at Alpstübli Trübsee is the perfect place to take your time to check out the latest equipment for the coming season and hire it for a few runs or to chat to like-minded people.

What would a ski event be without an evening programme? Of course there's plenty on offer here too. From classic Swedish après-ski in the now legendary Engelberg ski lodge to a cosy dinner together in the beer garden of the Hotel Hoheneck, where delicious chilli sin and con carne or a portion of nachos were served with beer and heroic stories of the day. There was also something for everyone in the evening. The whole event was rounded off with a concert by Mattias Larsson.

An absolutely successful event. You could say it was an event organised by the "freeride core scene for the freeride core scene". Definitely worth a trip. It's best to mark 13-16 March 2025 (ski test on 15 & 16 March) in your calendar and register early ;-)

Many thanks to the organising team Mani Streule, Yanick Küchler, Thomas Scheuner & Dani Perret and see you next year.
